Carolina Hurricanes Youth Hockey Celebration!

The Carolina Hurricanes have a great youth hockey night this Friday night February 24th. They are celebrating USA Hockey Week Across America.  The Carolina Hurricanes would like all our local kids to come out and support the Canes and have a group photo on the ice after the game.  They are offering a discount ticket offer and want as many kids in jerseys on the ice as possible following the game. These kids can be travel, rec, or Learn to Play players. Please see the below flier and pass this flier out to all youth hockey players as soon as possible so they can get your kids involved!

TAP Night with the Carolina Hurricanes

One of our Junior Hurricanes parent works with a nonprofit organization in Cary that serves people with aphasia. The organization is doing a hockey-oriented fundraiser.  One of their board members, Shawn Fleck, has reached out to our local hockey organizations regarding this fundraiser. Shawn has aphasia, which resulted from a stroke following an adult-league hockey game where he was hooked in the neck, damaging an artery.

The Triangle Aphasia Project Unlimited is a small non-profit organization dedicated to helping people who suffer from Aphasia, a communication disorder that impairs a person’s ability to speak and write, but does not impact intelligence or memory.  Many stroke victims are stricken with aphasia, including some members of our extended local hockey family.

The TAP Unlimited organization has asked for our support, through a great offer for Hurricanes tickets.  You can cheer on the Canes as they take on the Toronto Maple Leafs and the New York Rangers!  A portion of each ticket sold through this offer will benefit TAP to help support their efforts in helping individuals with aphasia, their families, friends, and the community.  Bring your families for two great hockey games and help people recovering from a stroke.

A flyer is attached with all the details, but you can buy tickets for approximately 20% off of the box office price!  There are two options for upper level and lower level seats.

The games are:
Sunday, February 19 at 7:00pm vs. Toronto
Thursday, March 9 at 7:00pm vs. New York
