Peewee AA Jr Canes volunteer to help the Hungry

On Saturday December 1st, the Peewee AA Jr. Canes team traded in their Hockey sticks for Shovels and Rakes to help the Raleigh Interfaith Food Shuttle. This program Feeds, Teaches & Grows to connect families to nutritious food and develop skills for self-sufficiency -- breaking the cycle of hunger in the community by feeding 50,000 adults and children per month through BackPack Buddies, Mobile Markets and almost 200 partner agencies. The boys worked hard in the rain all afternoon helping the local food garden prepare their land for the winter months . Instead of digging pucks out of the corners, they dug out gardens so they would be ready to grow food in the spring for the hungry in need. If you know a group who is ready to take their volunteer game to the next level, please follow this link to sign up? Food Shuttle Farm & Farm Stand

Jr Canes U10 Girls -- Bring home Silver

The U10 Girls team had an outstanding showing this past weekend at the Wishbone Classic tournament in Raleigh, NC. This was the girls first tournament of the season and many of the girls first tournament ever. The team worked hard and finished the preliminary round with a 2-1 record, which placed them in the Championship game on Sunday. The Championship game was very competitive and the girls, facing an early 2 goal deficit, never gave up. They fought back to within one goal with 11 seconds left, but unfortunately ran out of time before they could get the next shot off. We are very proud of the progress this young team has made thus far and are looking forward to see how far they will go this season.

Jr Canes Squirt A Red Finalists!

Junior Hurricanes Squirt A Red ---------- Bring home the SILVER from Pittsburgh, PA
November  2018

The Squirt A Red team had a great showing this past weekend while competing in their first tournament of the season at the Steel City Veterans Cup in Pittsburgh, PA.   The team played hard all weekend with 3 wins and 1 tie game rising to First Place in regular play and advancing to the Championship Game on Sunday!   Sunday was a "nail-bitter" keeping everyone on the edge of their seats and in a close game, the team brought home the Silver with a 2:1 final score.   We are proud of the teams accomplishments and look forward to lots more hockey to come this season!

Go Jr. Hurricanes!!
